Digital Signage
Digital signage system in the lobby of Sanger Hall.
The School of Medicine’s new digital signage system is a way for departments to share research and departmental activities with colleagues. Located in the lobbies of Sanger Hall, Kontos Medical Sciences Building and the new Goodwin Lab, the screens display messages about upcoming events such as research seminars, faculty development opportunities and departmental grand rounds.
The screens are also tied to VCU’s new emergency messaging system.
Event information to be displayed on the screens is pulled directly from the VCU Calendar of Events. To share your departmental event, browse to the VCU Calendar of Events and click on Submit an Event. Enter your eID and password and complete the Event Submission Form. Approved messages are posted to the digital signage monitors weekly, so submit your departmental activities at least two weeks prior to the event.
Messages generally run on the monitors for at least five days. Each message is displayed for 15 seconds. The length of the message rotation cycle depends on the number of messages in the system. To confirm that your event has been posted, visit the VCU In the Know site [requires Internet Explorer].
