The VCU School of Medicine (SOM) established the Office of Faculty and Instructional
Development in October 1994. It combines the leadership functions for Faculty
Development, Women in Medicine and Science, the Computer Based Instruction Laboratory
(CBIL), Instructional Development, Educational Applications Development, and
Distance Education and Video Applications.
