Alita Mishra, M.D., is currently the Clerkship Director of Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Mishra also serves as a hospitalist in the Internal Medicine department and is one of the lead physicians of the Inova Executive Health Center.
Dr. Mishra completed her medical education at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She did her residency at Georgetown University School of Medicine and joined Inova Fairfax Hospital in 2003 upon the completion of her residency training. Dr. Mishra has received numerous excellence awards in medical school and residency. More recently, she was voted as the top clinical educator in her department in 2006 and 2007. She was also the recipient of the golden apple teaching award in 2007 as voted by the Inova campus students from the VCU School of Medicine. Her other interests include Women’s Health and preventive medicine.
