Marjorie Hermes, M.D., is the Clerkship Director for Family Medicine for the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine Inova Campus.  In addition to overseeing the VCU Family Medicine 3rd year clinical rotation, she is involved in the education of Family Medicine Residents at the Fairfax Family Practice Residency.  She has a busy clinical practice at Fairfax Family Practice where she enjoys all aspects of Family Medicine, but is especially rewarded by her geriatric patients.  Her administrative roles include past Chair of the Department of Family Medicine Inova Fair Oaks Hospital 2004-2006 and current member of the Admissions Committee Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.

Dr. Hermes completed her undergraduate studies at Boston College.  She graduated from The George Washington University School of Medicine, and then Fairfax Family Practice Residency, A Virginia Commonwealth University Residency Program, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident during her third year of residency.  After working in private practice for 6 years, she joined the faculty at Fairfax Family Practice.  With a goal of medical student and resident education in mind, she participated in the Duke University Faculty Development Program and completed the Stanford Faculty Development Program.
