Cynthia Gauss, M.D., is currently the Clerkship Director for Psychiatry at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical School Inova campus, as well as an inpatient psychiatric hospitalist at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Dr. Gauss received her medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical School. She completed residency in psychiatry at Georgetown University Medical School and then the Georgetown University Medical School fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Dr. Gauss has been awarded several teaching awards, including the Teacher of the Year Award for psychiatry at Georgetown University, and twice as the Top Teaching Attending in Psychiatry at VCU Medical School/Inova campus. Dr. Gauss has a Master’s degree in French Literature from the University of Virginia, and studied in France under the auspices of a Fulbright Fellowship.
