Students who are accepted into the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine are eligible to participate in the program. Students choose either the rural or inner city track.

To be considered for the IC/RP program, a one page essay must be submitted providing the following information:

• Why you are interested in rural or inner city medicine?
• Any previous exposure you have to a rural or inner city community.
• What you hope to gain from this experience?

Applications submitted by August 15 will ensure student notification of activities held early in the academic year
