Financial Support
Well-qualified Ph.D. applicants may receive an offer of financial support in the form of an assistantship which typically includes a stipend/salary and the payment of all applicable tuition and fees on behalf of the student. The School of Medicine sets a foundation level of annual stipend/salary support currently at $23,100 per year; in addition annual tuition and fee costs of $10,808 ( Virginia resident) or $23,117 (non-resident) are separately provided. Additional support, including the provision of a contribution to defray the cost of health insurance, may be offered by individual programs to highly qualified applicants. Individual programs should be contacted for details.
Ph.D., Master’s and Certificate students who are appropriately enrolled are eligible for Financial Aid. For more information contact the School of Medicine Financial Aid Office.
