| On March 18, the Class of 2004 gathered to celebrate the nationwide tradition of Match Day. It’s an annual tradition for students to drop a dollar into the bucket when they arrive at the celebration, knowing it will go to the student who had to endure the anxiety of Match Day the longest. |
Dr. Hugo Seibel, associate dean of student activities, has presided over the Match Day festivities for 20 years. He has announced that he will retire at the end of this school year. To honor Dr. Seibel, a Teaching Professorship has been established that will carry his name. For more information about the professorship, contact the MCV Foundation at 804-828-9734. |

| At noon, Dr. Seibel begins calling the students’ names in random order. One by one, they come forward to receive the envelope that contains the name of their residency match. | Lennox McNeary opens her envelope and learns that she’s headed to William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan for her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. |
