Curriculum Council

Purpose

The Curriculum Council provides a forum for faculty discussion of the curriculum. This group also receives reports from the Student Curriculum Council and subject matter committees.

Goals

To provide advice on the curriculum to the Dean of the School of Medicine.

Assignments

This committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Dean. Its primary assignment is to stay informed about curriculum issues relating to undergraduate medical education. The committee meets on a monthly or bimonthly basis during the school year.

Procedures for Nomination

Any interested faculty can self-identify to the Chair, Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education, or the Dean of the School of Medicine, of his/her interest in serving on this committee. As vacancies occur, the Chairman of the Committee, in conjunction with the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education and the Dean of the School of Medicine, nominate new members.

Membership and Term

Members are appointed for one or two year terms.
