Teaching Excellence Program: Teaching Excellence Awards

• The Faculty Teaching Excellence Award
• The Irby-James Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching
• The Educational Innovation/Educational Research Grant
• The Distinguished Mentor Award

Faculty colleagues, administrators, students or a candidate may nominate any School of Medicine faculty member teaching in undergraduate medicine, basic sciences, graduate education, continuing education, or other schools/programs at the Academic Medical Center. Multiple kinds of documentation support evidence of superior teaching abilities.

Nominations are typically sought by the Dean of the School of Medicine in early May, with a deadline in June or July. Awards are granted in the Fall at the annual Teaching Excellence Program.
