Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society
Alpha Omega Alpha is a national honor medical society which seeks to recognize and perpetuate excellence in the medical profession. The organization promotes scholarship and research in medical schools, encourages a high standard of character and conduct among medical students and graduates, and recognizes high attainment in medical science, practice, and related fields.
The VCU chapter of AOA is Brown Sequard. To be considered for membership, VCU faculty must be nominated by a current AOA member. Elections are held yearly at a meeting of the membership in February. Criteria for nomination include excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service. Michael Edmond, MD, MPH, MPA serves as Councilor for the VCU chapter of AOA and is the primary contact person.
