International/Inner City/Rural Preceptorship (ICRP)

Application

The International/Inner City/Rural Preceptorship program is open to all M1 and first semester M2 students currently enrolled at the VCU School of Medicine. Students choose either the international, inner city or rural track.

The open admissions procedure includes completing an application, submitting a one-page essay and interviewing with the program director. The essay should address the following questions.

  • Why you are interested in underserved medicine?
  • What previous exposure, if any, have you had to underserved communities (inner city, rural or international)?
  • What you hope to gain from this experience?
