All activities designated for CME credit must be based upon identified learning needs of physicians. Start with these basic questions:
- What problem(s) is this activity addressing?
- How can this activity be used to help physicians improve their practice and patient outcomes?
The CME Organizer has specific suggestions to help guide your determination and documentation of learning needs. Please read the Needs Assessment section of the Organizer carefully.
Additionally, for Regularly Scheduled Activities (RSCs) such as Grand Rounds, CPDE requires that you conduct some type of needs assessment survey of your learners to discern gaps in knowledge or skills, or identified population health needs. You may use this Sample Needs Assessment Survey Questionnaire, or develop one of your own with CPDE approval for this purpose.
